Important message: drain the water from your air compressor DAILY. Failure to do this is the most common cause of problems and failures.
1. What should I do if my pump is not pumping oil?
Check to see if air is on to pump and regulator is set to 60-80 psi
Check to see if all oil line valves are turned on
Make sure tank is not empty
2. What should I do if the pump is pumping air into oil system?
Make sure tank is not empty
3. When and how do I prime a pump?
If the oil tank was empty and then recently filled, air probably got into the pump and it will need to be primed. Prime the pump by slightly opening swivel located on pump until pump stops pumping and oil starts coming out of the swivel.
4. What should I do if the air regulator on the pump is blowing air?
You will need to clean the air regulator:
Disconnect air from pump, unscrew bottom of regulator, and clean all parts in regulator with towel, rag or cloth. Do not use brake or parts cleaner!
Reassemble regulator and connect air to pump.
5. What should I do if the pump is pumping to all but one station?
Check to see if valve is turned off at station
Make sure fluid commander is selected on correct station
Make sure wire connections are good at fluid commander and at station
6. What should I do if the American Lube digital meter screen is faded (or blank screen)?
Replace batteries in meter, batteries may be dead.
7. How do I calibrate my American Lube digital meter?
Press and hold “CAL” button until screen shows “f####” or “u####”
Press and hold “RES” button until screen shows “0.000 CAL”
Pump 1 quart into a marked container (do not determine volume based on what meter reads).
Once the quart container has 1 quart in it, press “RES” button until arrow that indicates the direction needed is displayed. For example, if the meter reads “.962,” press the reset button until “1.000” is displayed.
Press “CAL” button until meter reaches correct amount per container.
Press and hold reset button and allow meter to reset to normal screen operation.
8. What should I do if my control handle is pumping slowly?
Screen in inlet of handle may be clogged.
Turn off valve to control handle, if valve is in ceiling for the reel, disconnect air from pump and drain reel hose.
Disconnect hose from swivel on control handle
Use a pick to take out o-ring holding screen in place and to pull screen out
Clean screen and replace screen and o-ring.
Reconnect hose and turn valve back on.
9. What should I do if my Graco fluid command unit will not stop pumping once counter reaches zero (000.0)?
Check to make sure switch on that unit is not on “bypass.” Switch is located on top of module per each measuring unit.
10. What should I do if my Graco fluid command unit does not turn on?
Make sure unit is plugged in. If plugged in, try another outlet to make sure outlet is not bad.
Make sure reset button did not trip. The reset button is located at top of power module. Push both switches at top rear of power module.
Check circuit breaker to make sure it is on.

Press “ enter” button to calibrate
Press “clear reset” button to return to operating screen.

Make sure tip on gun is not clogged with dried product. If it is, clean tip and to prevent this problem in the future place gun in a 5-gallon bucket of mineral spirits or parts cleaner.
Filter in canister may be clogged. To clean, disconnect air from pump. Before you work on the undercoating filter or pump, relieve the pressure by squeezing the undercoating gun handle after disconnecting air to pump. Unscrew silver canister top to access filter. Pull out filter and clean with brake clean or in parts washer. Replace and test. If problem persists, new filter may be required.
